Weeks 7-10: Digging a Basement

With the hustle and bustle of the holidays, and the often wet weather that winter brings, work on the house is more hit/miss than it had been previously.  Even so, there has been a lot of soil removal happening in the basement area.  Some things look quite similar to what we've seen in weeks prior:

The first view from entering at the driveway is quite similar, though more
materials have been removed in certain areas.
The bedroom wing is also rather unchanged.
At the front of the house there is a noticeable difference.  Large amounts of soil have been removed in preparation for the addition of the basement.  It certainly appears to be a large space!  Much of it will be located underneath the dining room and kitchen, with a bit stretching back underneath the laundry room as well.
Let me introduce you to the future basement.
Let's add some people just for scale.

Same place, slightly different perspective.

Weird to think that this is a picture taken of where the dining room was.
Yes, the chandelier is still there.
Looking in the other direction, towards the kitchen instead of towards the
front door.
Again, the basement portion that will be under the kitchen.
Token shot of the wall mural.  :)
