The Grand Entry

One of the things I love about this house is that the entry is so impressive, yet not too grandiose.  I like that it combines function and style.  It is a 2 level entry, with the back door (leading from the driveway and garage) being lower than the front door (leading from the street--it's a corner lot so the front door is around the corner from the driveway).  Hopefully these pictures will give you a better idea of this complicated area.

In this picture the back door is on the left (barely visible) and the front door is on the right (the interior door you see leads to a bedroom suite located above the garage).
This next view is taken as if you had come in the back foor and turned right.  The front door would be on your left (not visible in photo), the dining room is on the upper left, you can see a bit of the family room straight ahead, the doorway to the office-type-room on the right, and all those great stairs.
The next picture is taken from the doorway of the family room, looking back towards the doors.  The red door is the front door, the dining room is on the upper right, and the back door is on the left.
Here's the same view, but from the upper level (check out the great art and chandelier!  Original '60s...I don't know how long they'll stay in the house, but they are fun to see all the same.)
Taken from the top of the stairs in the great room, this photo gives a clearer view of where the front door and dining room are located.
